Steroids At Wimbledon?
Anabolic steroids are generally associated with bodybuilding and sports where size and muscularity are of desirable qualities for increasing performance. The use of anabolic steroids in tennis seems a little out of the ordinary, especially when you look at the average physique in tennis, it is apparent that muscle and mass are not necessary.
Steroids have never been a big problem in tennis and so their use throughout the sport is not of big concern, but this doesn’t mean that testing isn’t carried out. Blood and urine tests are conducted on random players, and the top representatives of the sport are subjected to the “whereabouts” rule recently introduced by WADA.
Wimbledon saw its first doping violation over ten years ago when Petr Korda of the Czech Republic was deemed to have a higher than acceptable amount of a class once prohibited substance, nandrolone.
Nandrolone is one of the anabolic steroids for sale which does not convert to estrogen at a high rate meaning the gains made on-cycle are generally in lean strength, without bloating or water retention.
Korda was ordered to return his prize money from the competition and was deducted nearly 200 ranking points in the World Rankings Chart.
Apart from this violation, tennis and Wimbledon remains a very clean affair, free from the likes of anabolic steroids and performance enhancing drugs.
